The typical RoI can be up to 7.0% which is better than some Hedge Funds which makes it brilliant for passive income. The way they process defaults is a lot better than some banks. When a lender defaults, Funding Circle will reduce the payments allowing the business to recover. Often the business is able to return most of the money lent and continue business as usual.
Funding Circle was founded in 2010 by Andrew Mullinger, Samir Desai and James Meekings. Funding Circle has been around since 2010 and is a lending marketplace that enables investors to lend cash directly to SMEs. This means it's different from ZOPA as they allow P2P lending to individuals not organisations.
Funding Circle was the first business to allow peer-to-peer lending for companies in Britain and now operates in the UK, US, Germany and the Netherlands, and has facilitated over £5 billion in loans to SMEs as at June 2018. Funding Circle Lt is authorised and regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), their registration number is 722513 if you need to check, but isn't covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
